Professional geospatial tools shouldn't need a procurement cycle.
GIS Workbench is an open-source project from D2Insights LLC. We believe analysts, students, researchers and small teams deserve the same exploitation capability as the largest programmes — without cost, installation or lock-in.
Why we built it
Desktop imagery-exploitation suites are powerful, but they are expensive, Windows-only, and tied to licence servers and installers that are hard to deploy in restricted environments. Modern browsers can now run compiled code at near-native speed and drive the GPU directly. GIS Workbench uses that to deliver a familiar, analyst-grade workspace as a single file you can carry anywhere.
Open source
GIS Workbench is released under the Apache-2.0 licence. You may use, modify and redistribute it, commercially or otherwise, under the licence terms. The licence includes an explicit patent grant. All bundled third-party components use permissive licences; their notices ship with every release in THIRD-PARTY-NOTICES.txt.
